Italy Earthquake Relief Fund

Italy Earthquake

On April 6th 2009, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck L’Aquila, Italy. The earthquake left 64,000 people homeless, many others injured, 304 dead and the city completely destroyed.

The devastation in Haiti & Japan pushed the L’Aquila tragedy off the front pages of the newspapers, but our brothers & sisters still need our help.

In November of 2010, members of the EHIAC traveled to Italy with The Infernos Band to perform a series of concerts in Rome and in L’Aquila. Their goal is to raise money to purchase a mobile command post, which the citizens of L’Aquila can use as a temporary city hall to facilitate the reconstruction efforts.

The East Hanover Italian American Club is proud to be part of this worthy cause.
